In colour, it is ruby red with garnet reflections. The aromatic profile is intense and fruity. With bottle ageing, the bouquet evolves with very spicy notes. On the palate, it is a wine of character, with pronounced tannins and acidity, which are the origin of the designation of this grape variety's name, which can be translated as "tongue-cutter".
Ideal for pairing with red meat and game in general or cured cheeses.
Origin: Pocenia, province of Udine, in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region.
