Orme di Lava's Bianco Basilicata IGT comes from grapes grown in the volcanic soils of the rural area of Pian di Camera, clay-loam soils with good fertility thanks to the presence of colloidal formations. These are volcanic soils with excellent drainage, where lapilli and ash from ancient eruptions have mixed with soil rich in clay, calcium, nitrogen, and tuff, creating a terroir unique in its kind and in the Mediterranean wine landscape.

The characteristics of the soil and the marked temperature variations enhance the peculiar characteristics of the grapes, giving this wine a unique aromatic profile and the ability to evolve in the bottle.

In color, it is straw-yellow with golden reflections. The aroma is intense with notes of ripe yellow fruits, with hints of sage and jasmine. On the palate, the wine expresses its full evolution of aromatic essences, demonstrating an excellent balance between its softness and its solid, fresh, and mineral structure. It can be aged for up to 5 years.

Food Pairing: perfectly accompanies fish-based dishes, such as seafood or grilled tuna, and fresh cheeses. Try it with typical Lucanian dishes, such as Fiori di Zucchina Ripieni (stuffed zucchini flowers) and rabbit stew.

Origin: Pian di Camera, municipality of Venosa, province of Potenza, in Basilicata. Hilly terrain, 400 meters above sea level.

Year: 2024

Grape Varieties: non-native white grapes grown in our volcanic vineyards, namely Traminer Aromatico and Müller Thurgau.

Alcohol Content: 13.5%

Harvest and Vinification: the grapes are harvested between late August and early September, when the different varieties reach aromatic maturity. Part of the grapes undergoes cold maceration in contact with the skins for 24 hours, and the musts ferment at temperatures between 12 and 16 °C. After fermentation, the wines age on fine lees for 5 months in stainless steel tanks until assemblage.

Serving Temperature: should be served between 10° and 12° C
