Cucunci or caper berries (caper bush fruits), preserved in quality wine vinegar, are a typical product of Mediterranean countries. They differ from what we know as capers by their more elongated shape, crunchy texture, and sweet and sour taste. Capers are the plant's flower bud, while cucunci are the actual fruit of the caper. Anfosso's Cucunci in Vinegar are ideal as an appetizer, as an accompaniment to fish dishes, or as an ingredient in some dishes such as the famous Sicilian Caponata.
