Nestled in the rural area of Trapani, in Italy's richest wine region, between Mount Erice and the Aegadian Islands, on rolling hills at an altitude of 300 to 400 metres above sea level, lie the lush rows of Tenuta Gelso Grande, the heart of the Feudi Branciforti dei Bordonaro winery. This is a region whose history has always been based on agriculture. Gelso Grande preserves the ability to cultivate diverse grape varieties, always respecting their most authentic characteristics and enhancing their maximum expression.
Tasting notes: It presents a straw-yellow colour with subtle golden reflections in the glass. On the palate, it reveals slight notes of peach blossom and wisteria. Fresh, mineral, and aromatic, the Catarratto, cultivated in the Trapani region under the constant influence of the Mediterranean Sea, reveals a pleasant acidity that enhances its elegant aroma.
Food pairing: It can be drunk as an aperitif, with seafood dishes (scallops, for example) and fish, also making a suitable companion for sushi or prawn tempura.
