The history of this elegant and powerful Barbera is very special. In 2015, Alessandro Rivetto acquired a small plot of old vines from their owner, Ms. Leonilde. She explained to him that the vines had been planted in memory of the Liberazione (Italy's liberation from Nazism and Fascism on April 25, 1946) and that they were priceless to her, asking him to keep them intact and to inscribe her name on the label. Alessandro did so.
Tasting notes: bright ruby red colour, with full tones. On the nose, ripe red fruit sensations predominate. The aroma is intense, with notes of blackberry and plum. On the palate, it is full-bodied and delicately tannic. It is a wine with good acidity and can be stored for about 10 years.
Food pairing: white meats and game, stews, grilled vegetables and cheeses.

Azienda Agricola Alessandro Rivetto
From the breathtaking views of La Morra to the rolling hills of Sinio, from the prestigious vineyards in the Barbaresco area, in the municipality of Alba, to the ancestral soils of Serralunga d'Alba, the prestigious Alessandro Rivetto estate preserves and reveals some of the most authentic and emblematic expressions of Langhe. It is a unique heritage expressed in the wines it produces — authentic interpreters of the land, capable of telling its story with new nuances in each vintage. Production arises from careful listening to nature and a deep understanding of the vineyards; it seeks to highlight the unique character of each hillside, transforming it into wines with a distinct and recognisable identity.
A passion for wine and extensive experience in the sector – developed over a lifetime of learning and observation – are essential attributes of Azienda Agricola Alessandro Rivetto. Alessandro's grandfather - Ercole - introduced him to the vineyards and the cellar, just as his great-grandfather Giovanni had done before him. Ercole had deep ties to his homeland. He knew how to transform his father's intuition and use it as a starting point to explore new productive possibilities.
In Alessandro's own words, "he gave me the pleasure of working with a smile on my face. I learned that from him: to love what I do and to do what I love, bringing a smile to the people I meet and to those who taste my wine."
