EM SETEMBRO, MÊS DE COLHEITAS E RECOMEÇO, PROPOMOS UMA VIAGEM GASTRONÓMICA MEMORÁVEL!

IN SEPTEMBER, THE MONTH OF HARVESTS AND NEW BEGINNINGS, WE PROPOSE A MEMORABLE GASTRONOMIC JOURNEY!

In September (whose name, from the Latin september, comes from being the seventh month of the Roman calendar), we suggest you start by trying one of Sardinia's best products — Pergamena al tartufo ("parchment" bread, in very thin and crispy sheets, with truffle), which you can spread with Anfosso's Pesto Rosso, a superior quality extra virgin olive oil producer from Liguria. Pesto rosso is milder than typical Genoese pesto due to the addition of two ingredients to the traditional recipe: fresh tomatoes and dried tomatoes.

If you want an indestructible pairing, combine our Pecorino Toscano Stagionato PDO from the prestigious Val d'Orcia cheese factory (unfortunately, fresh cheeses are still unavailable in the online store) with Il Denso, the densest of Mussini's Balsamic Vinegars of Modena PDO.

Also from Emilia-Romagna is the independent brewery Amarcord: accompany your starters with Volpina Red Ale, produced with fresh hops!

If you prefer wine, try an Orange, produced with Pinot Grigio grapes, by the true artisan Poggio delle Grazie, an organic wine producer, born a few steps from Lake Garda, in the small Castelnuovo del Garda (Verona, in Veneto).

For the first course, try one of our artisanal Calabrian pastas — for example, Tagliatelle Tartufi (with Calabrian black truffle) — and pair it with a Primitivo Quota 29 — if you like the exuberance of this famous Apulian grape, this wine will never leave your table again.

The wine of the month is Barbaresco DOCG Alessandro Rivetto. It can stand up to your preferred intensely flavored roast or stew, but it is flexible enough to accompany the entire meal — in Alessandro's own words! Alessandro Rivetto produces two Barbarescos, both with Nebbiolo grapes from the Montersino cru. For this classic Barbaresco DOCG, grapes from the west side are used, which receive sun until dusk. Here, the soil is slightly darker and gives body to the wine, making it ready to drink with the canonical aging of 18 months in wood and 12 in the bottle.

Tasting notes: Ruby color, with garnet hues. Intense aroma of ripe cherries and complex notes of minerals, tea leaves, and rose petals. Pronounced and mature tannins, fresh acidity, and a rounded, feminine structure. This Barbaresco demonstrates incredible delicacy, excellent balance, and a long, persistent finish.
