POCKET CONCERT "O PIANINHO", WITH PABLO LAPIDUSAS

On Saturday, June 20th, at 10:15 AM, Dante & C.ª, located at Rua Luís Augusto Palmeirim, 12C, in Alvalade (Lisbon), opens its doors to a unique and unforgettable event: the European premiere of Concerto de Bolso — O Pianinho, conceived and led by the versatile and brilliant pianist and composer Pablo Lapidusas, and already presented with great success in schools and community spaces in Brazil.
This workshop-concert, part of the Poesia da Mangiare series, is aimed at children up to 10 years old, as well as the adults accompanying them on this experience. It proposes a direct, sensitive, and true encounter between children and classical music in its most complete form, using a central and unexpected element—the Toy Piano, a toy piano that acts as a bridge (sometimes dizzying) between imagination and high artistic performance—and compositions by Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Villa-Lobos, Tchaikovsky, and Rimsky-Korsakov. In a world saturated with the superfluous, Pablo offers a return to the essential: the present moment and the transformative power of listening. He himself experienced this superpower: at 11, when the blended sounds of multiple instruments led him—like a magnet—into the Conservatório de Poços de Caldas (in Minas Gerais), but also, years later, when a solo concert in the same city by pianist and composer Cesar Camargo Mariano showed him the way, as clear as a line etched into the palm of his hand.
Concerto de Bolso — O Pianinho is a musical experience that sparks curiosity, invites play, and encourages discovery: children will discover how they can become "inventors" of new melodies and that classical music is not distant or difficult, but can be reached by their small hands. As its baptismal name suggests, this is an artistic object that fits in the hand and in the heart.
The number of places is limited and each child must be accompanied by an adult. Please reserve by emailing unpoditalia@danteecompanhia.pt, indicating the name and age of the child(ren) and the name of the accompanying adult, as this will help us prepare the room. « (…) To teach is to create listening. To play is to expand presence. To collaborate is to infiltrate language. And what is built here is not a career. It is a field. A field where: music does not intimidate technique, does not shy away from depth, and does not exclude. A field where the piano is not the past. It is possibility. Between the erudite and the impulse, between calculation and the body, between what has already been said and what still trembles — there is a space. It is there that everything begins. Anew.»
